Harry Styles, while promoting his upcoming album Kiss all the Time, Disco Occasionally, opened up about the death of former One Direction bandmate, Liam Payne.
The Aperture singer shared how the deceased singer had a profound effect on him.
In an appearance on the latest episode of The Zane Lowe Show, Styles admitted that he still finds it difficult to talk about coping with the loss, saying that even discussing it can be a struggle.
The As It Was crooner added, "There was a period when he passed away where I really struggled with acknowledging how strange it is to have people kind of like own part of your grief in a way."
He further said that while he was grieving deeply inside, people around him seemed to expect him to show that grief in public.
This made him feel that if he didn’t express it out loudly, others might assume he just didn’t care.
Reflecting on Payne's untimely death, the Grammy winner continued, "It's so difficult to lose a friend. It's difficult to lose any friend, but it's so difficult to lose a friend who is so like you in so many ways."
He added, "I saw someone with the kindest heart who just wanted to be great."
His death made the Sign of the Times hitmaker to revaluate his life and what he wanted for himself.
Styles shared, "I think the greatest way you can honour your friends who pass away is by living your life to the fullest."
Payne died on October 16, 2024 after falling the balcony of his hotel room in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
