Sigourney Weaver recalls confronting James Cameron after he shouted at co-star

American actress Sigourney Weaver revealed she confronted the filmmaker on the set of a movie when he yelled at a co-star.

James Cameron is a “perfectionist” who is also known for being short-tempered on sets.

Sigourney, who is now staring is James’ third Avatar movie Avatar: Fire and Ash, said she stood up against James on the set of 1986 Aliens.

Speaking to The New York Times, the actress said it was her first movie with the director when he yelled at a co-star on set who was struggling with props.

“I sort of trundled up to him and I said, ‘You know, when you yell at an actor, you yell at all of us, so understand that what she was doing actually was very hard”, she recalled.

James has had a reputation for being intensely demanding during the filmmaking process with his crew and cast. The director creates a high-pressure environment on sets to achieve excellence which makes him often uncompromising.

“He’s a good guy. I really do think Jim has mellowed.”, she added.

The 76-year-old added that James took her advice to shoot something else on the set at the time and let the actor adjust.
