English singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor has given an insight into her life as a mother.
The singer, who rose to fame as the lead vocalist of the indie rock band theaudience, has admitted that there are no rules in her house.
The 46-year-old singer is a mother of five kids with her husband, the Feeling bassist Richard Jones, Sonny, Kit, Ray, Jesse and Mickey.
In conversation with The Telegraph, Sophie said “I'm a communicator. I often ask them, ‘What would you do if you were the parent in this situation?’ We're big on talking about stuff – we don't have fixed rules about anything [but they] self-regulate.”
The singer said she has too many kids in her house to impose rules so that is not a value she fixates on.
“I have boundaries. I want all of us to have a moral compass. Kindness is a big thing. Also freedom.”, she added.
Sophie said she wats to create a space for her kids where they “feel good, safe and supported by their siblings”.
The couple’s eldest child Sonny has recently moved in with his grandmother.
