Angela Kinsey lied to get internship before joining ‘The Office’

Angela Kinsey has revealed how she lied to secure an internship on NBC before she joined the cast of The Office.

The Office is one of the highest rated sitcoms of all time which featured Angela on the US version as Angela Martin.

The actress played the role of the uptight and ultra-religious accountant who keeps things orderly and formal in the workplace.

While making an appearance in an episode of the Lay It On With Brad Leone podcast, the actress explained how she landed the internship years before she was cast.

“I didn't get the internship right away. I didn't know anyone at NBC, I had to move back home...graduated college, moved back in with my parents”, she explained.

Angela explained that in those days there was a main number for internships at NBC which connected candidates to the centers but it never made it through.

Revealing she lied about her identity, she said “I just one day called and I said, 'I was disconnected. I was talking to someone about an internship.' The woman, the operator, was like, 'Oh, do you mean Nancy?' And I was like, 'Yes, Nancy.'... I lied.”

The number transferred her to a woman and Angela admitted to her she lied to connect with her who then invited her for an interview in New York.
