Selena Gomez shared a blunt comment made by a fan through her official Instagram story on December 16.
In the viral video, the 33-year-old vocalist in a makeup-free appearance addressed a follower's question regarding how she shaves her moustache.
I Said I Love You First songstress started the video punching, "someone made me laugh because they asked me, 'how do you shave your mustache?'"
Gomez then got candid about the condition that resulted in a visible shadow above her lip, which was not facial hair but meslasma.
For those unaware, meslasma is a skin condition causing dark patches on the cheeks, forehead or upper lip, triggered by sun exposure.
“It’s my melasma,” Gomez said straightforwardly. “I take care of it and treat it, but yeah, it’s there. I totally get it. It’s from the sun.”
The star then went on to explain the importance of sunscreen usage.
Previously, Gomez, who was diagnosed with lupus in 2013, shared her skincare with Vogue's Beauty Secrets episode.
"I notice when I get stressed or something I break out more or I get lazy with my routine so I feel like it's just become a part of it. And I just deal with whatever I got that day," shared Blanco's wife.
"When you are taking care of your skin you are taking care of your body and your mind and your soul just because I think it's all connected."
The Who Says chart topper shared, adding that her lupus diagnosis made her skin care and protection even more critical.
