Justin Baren’s family says the musician passed “peacefully” as questions linger around his sudden death. The co-founder and bassist of the rock band The Redwalls has died at the age of 40.

The news was shared by his father Martin Baren, who confirmed the report of his passing on November 28, 2025 and described the event as “peaceful”.

“It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our friend, brother, and bandmate, Justin Baren,” his band Redwall’s official Instagram post wrote in its caption.

The band in their tribute to the singer remembered him not just as a musician but as the core force behind the band’s early spirit.

“Justin was an essential part of The Redwalls. His energy, intuition, and raw musicality helped shape who we were not just as a band, but as a group of kids trying to make something meaningful together,” his band further reflected on Justin’s impact.

Another musician Ezra Furman took to Instgram to hounur the legacy of the red wall vocalist remembering him in prayers and discussing the late singers lifestyle and substance abuse seemingly hinting it as a possible cause of death.

It is pertinent to note that the singer's cause of death is being kept in the dark which sparked speculation among fans, many of whom expressed shock at the suddenness of the loss.

“We’re grateful for the years, the music, and all the memories we shared,” the post concluded.

Justin and his brother Logan founded The Redwalls in high school and finally got praised in the 2000s for their unique style.

Fans and fellow musicians have filled social media with condolences and remembered Baren as a vibrant performer and a generous collaborator.

The music world is mourning the loss of a talent gone far too soon and a bandmate whose legacy will live on through every note he helped create.
