Meghan Markle’s father Thomas Markle underwent a life saving surgery in which his leg was amputated.
The Duchess of Sussex has been estranged from her father since she tied the knot with Prince Harry in 2018.
On Tuesday, the 81-year-old, who was married to Doria Ragland until 1987, was rushed to the hospital where he underwent a three-hour surgery later on Wednesday.
In recent report, it has been revealed that his leg from below the knee was removed to treat a blood clot.
The surgery took place in Cebu, Philippines after he was rushed to the hospital when his foot “turned blue and then black”.
“It happened very quickly. I took him to a local hospital and they did some scans and an ultrasound and said the leg had to be amputated”, his son Thomas Markle Jr. told Daily Mail.
The news comes after the estranged father of the royal revealed that his “only” wish is to meet his grandchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
Meghan Markle was only 2 when her parents parted ways and later finalised their divorce in 1987.
