Miley Cyrus is living her ideal life after her Engagement

Miley Cyrus is officially embracing her dream life.

On Dec. 2, news broke that the Avatar: Fire and Ash songwriter, 33, is engaged to musician Maxx Morando, 27, who plays drums for the band Liily. 

An exclusive source tells PEOPLE that Cyrus is thrilled about taking the next step with her longtime partner.

“Miley is thrilled to be engaged,” the source said. “The ring is so her, it has a cool, boho-rock vibe. It’s beautiful. She didn’t feel the need to announce it. Maxx is very private, and it’s influencing how she lives her life now.”

The couple, who have lived together for years, share a life full of music, home time, and creative collaboration. “She really thrives with him. It’s exactly the life she’s wanted,” the source added.

Their engagement comes after the pair attended the Los Angeles premiere of Avatar: Fire and Ash on Dec. 1, where Cyrus proudly showcased a glittery ring on the red carpet. 

The ring had first appeared in mid-November and in photos from Cyrus’ Nov. 23 birthday celebration.

“She loves her life with Maxx. It’s very normal and calm. She’s in such a great place, and her family and friends adore him,” the source concluded.
