Ariana Grande, who recently released Eternal Sunshine Deluxe: Brighter Days Ahead, was straightforward when asked about following in Katy Perry’s footsteps.
Although the 32-year-old admitted loving space, Ariana strictly denied becoming an astronaut like fellow musician.
Bowen explained that “Katy Perry sang to her fellow travellers, Jonathan Bailey reference while they were in space.”
Strapped to the Vanity’s lie-detecting machine, the songstress was asked if she would do the same to which she replied: “I wouldn’t sing in space” or “do that trip.”
The Grammy winner confirmed: “Yeah I’m staying right here for now” and will instead “look from my yard or from a plane,” avoiding “breaking certain layers.”
The remark sparked a debate amongst fans after the video was shared on X (Twitter) with one user speculating that she is calling the mission “bad for the environment.”
Another netizen noted: “I think Ariana doesn’t like Katy anymore,” while Katy’s fan admitted they are “removing her from my playlists.”
Meanwhile, an admirer jumped in to defend the Wicked star: “Y’all are overdramatic, they were not even shading Katy.”
Somewhere else in the interview, the musician was asked about the Moon landing and if she denies its reality. Ariana noticeably skipped responding to it directly to avoid a backlash faced by Kim Kardashian.
