Ariana Grande reveals her biggest challenge in ‘Wicked’

Ariana Grande might have slipped seamlessly into her role as Glinda in Wicked: For Good, but people doubted her capability of doing the role.

Speaking to Vogue France, the Grammy-winning pop sensation revealed her biggest challenge before beginning to star in Wicked.

“Maybe knowing that so many people didn’t trust me or didn’t believe I was capable of doing this,” Grande said, “including many people in the room even before I went through the audition, influenced me.”

Grande admitted that she wasn’t scared of these insecurities coming from people, but she was adamant about protecting herself from these dramas so as not to be “destabilized” by them.

“So, I ignored all of that,” the Thank U, Next singer said, “and focused on this job that I had dreamed of doing since I was 10 years old. I believed in myself back then, so why not trust the little girl I was instead of them?”

Fans on Instagram were delighted that Grande accepted herself and focused on her job instead of being in the turmoil of insecurities projected toward her.

“I’m so glad she trusted herself instead of anyone else’s opinion because she is truly made to be Glinda,” a fan wrote on Instagram.
