Whoopi Goldberg reacts to ‘being censored’ live over Donald Trump joke

Whoopi Goldberg’s political joke referencing Donald Trump did not have the implications she thought it would have, and was soon censored by the network she said it on.

The actress had brought up the controversy that came to be during Joe Biden’s time in office, that there was a misuse of his autopen signature during his tenure.

In an appearance on The View, the comedian was hosting the show with Sunny Hostin and other panelists, when the set up for the joke came to be.

Sunny brought up the fact that the President of the United States had accused the 46th President of using an autopen to pardon people he didn’t know, adding “How come he doesn’t know who this guy is?”

In response, Whoopi joked, “cause he used an autopen,” referring to Trump, which was the remark that got clarified later on.

The lawyer then passed a note to the EGOT winner, which she tore apart soon after reading, calling it “ridiculous” and exclaiming that it was a joke.

"The hardest thing about this job now is no one understands nuance. You know, when you hear a joke, when somebody is fooling around, when they're not saying something specific,” Whoopi said.

Notably, the 69-year-old also pointed out that she is very specific while making jokes, and people can tell when she is being serious and when not.
