Maks Chmerkovskiy is going back on his harsh critique of Jan Ravnik’s performance on Dancing with the Stars.
The DWTS winner had joined his wife Peta Murgatroyd, on her podcast and the pair essentially concluded that The Eras Tour dancer was chosen due to his connection to Taylor Swift and wasn’t skilled at the foxtrot technique.
Meanwhile, in response the 30-year-old contestant had chosen to make no comment on all the remarks by the dancing show’s alum.
After receiving widespread backlash from viewers of the show over the strongly worded jabs, Maks took to his Instagram to publicly apologise.
“I want to apologize to Jan for the way my words hurt your feelings,” he began in the video on October 30.
“I would love to meet, I would love to talk about this, bury the hatchet, most importantly, I think, you know, walk away with knowing me feeling completely different, "And, dare I say, we probably might even be friends,” Maks continued.
The Forever Tango star also explained that he has the kind of personality in which he gives tough love to the people he cares for.
Notably, Maks repeatedly emphasised that would prefer to meet Jan one on one, ad clear the air in private.
Professional dancers typically step back from the limelight at around 35 years of age.
