American actor Jeremy Allen White stars as the music icon Bruce Springsteen in his biopic Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere.
In a recent interview, the actor revealed what he received from the music icon himself while he was getting ready for the role.
The portrayal of Bruce was not an easy task as Jeremy had never picked up a guitar before he got the role.
To prepare for the role, the Bear star got guitar lessons from session ace J. D. Simo and a special gift from the Boss.
Bruce gifted the 34-year-old an acoustic guitar.
In a promo clip for the film, Jeremy recalls receiving a test from someone saying Bruce would like to give him something.
“They said, ‘You have to be there to receive it.’ It was a 1955 Gibson J-200.”, Jeremy said.
The guitar was not an ordinary guitar but a vintage Gibson acoustic resembling Springsteen’s own.
Explaining the guitar, the singer said he got the closest he could find to the guitar he originally played.
“I said, ‘This is just some good voodoo for the film.’”, Bruce said recalling the time.
The Shameless actor commented that it is the “nicest” guitar anybody's ever learned to play the guitar on.
