Shawn Mendes, who is also known for his famous hits like Why Why Why and I Know What You Did Last Summer has been working on his passion since 2013 when he was just a 15-year-old boy.
He started his career as a musician by posting six second video covers of famous songs on a social app, Vine. Soon after Shawn became the most followed musician on that app, he was later discovered by the artist manager, Andrew Gertler.
After signing with Island Records, he released his debut single Life of the Party which diverted attention towards him as he also used to open shows for the pop singer, Austin Mahone and Taylor Swift in his early days.

The hit single was released in 2019 in collaboration with the American singer, Camila Cabello, the song became a major success as it became Shawn’s first single to top the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song is his most streamed track till date.

The song which belongs to Shawn’s debut album, Handwritten helped him make his reputation as a global pop star. The track featured a heartbreak anthem that was the first top-10 single in the US, peaking at number 4. Additionally, the track has been certified 8x Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) in the United States and 5x Platinum in the UK.
Treat You Better
The lead single from his second studio album, Illuminate was ranked eighth-best song of the year, 2016 by critic Jon Caramanica and became one of his most successful songs in his career. The song has also gained Song of the Year award by Radio Disney Music Awards.
There's Nothing Holdin' Me Back
This track is from the reissued deluxe edition of Illuminate and also backed up his title as a major pop star. The song was also awarded with the title Best Song by MTV Europe Music Award and is multi-certified in numerous countries.
Mercy
Another major hit is from his second album and showcases his songwriting talent. The song peaked in the top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100 and gained a lot of commercial success as Shawn has also performed it on various shows, including he Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Saturday Night Live.
