In an emotional tribute to Deadline, the 85-year-old began, “When I first heard the news, I was shaken. Diane was my partner, my friend, someone who brought me happiness and on more than one occasion influenced the direction of my life.”

Al added, “Though over thirty years has past since we were together, the memories remain vivid, and with her passing, they have returned with a force that is both painful and moving.”

The Heat star went on to note that Diane was a magnetic and unmistakable force both in her roles in real life and in films, after showering her with valuable compliments.

Towards the end of the address, Al highlighted that the Father of the Bride actress has left an unforgettable mark on the world, and that she will be remembered more than she will be missed.
