IU, who is a singer-turned-actress, recently apologised to her fans for disappointing them.
The songstress was praised by many for her acting skills, when her drama, When Life Gives You Tangerines, came out.
Now, working on her latest drama, Perfect Crown with actor, Byeon Woo-seok, she gushed heartbreaking words to her viewers for not meeting the expectations.
Notably, the K-pop idol held a group viewing event for the MBC weekend drama on her birthday, May 16.
Soon after the screening ended, the 33-year-old stated, "I’ve been preparing for an album recently and the drama is nearing its end, so I think I’ve been feeling, ‘I need to do better. I need to take more responsibility and do better."
The eight hit maker also explained that she will try her best to improve even if there is not much of a difference, she will work hard and if she does disappoint her supporters, it's completely her fault, and she understands that.
She added, "If I disappoint you or show inadequacy, it’s truly my fault. I’m not making excuses—it’s absolutely true."
IU continued, "I’ve had a lot on my mind lately. If I had done better, things would have been different. As someone who receives your love, I will strive to improve. I won’t waste a single moment and will live meaningfully to become an IU who shows better results with greater responsibility,"
The MAMA award winner concluded the conversation by confessing that she will make everyone who loves her proud.
For the unversed, the latest project of the famous artist received a peak viewership rating of 13.8% and was labeled as a "failed" project by the critics.
