Kylie Jenner’s promotional video for her revival of the King Kylie era is being bashed online as being tone deaf.
In the video, the Kylie Cosmetics owner gets escorted by two men dressed as police officers in a jail-like facility in skimpy clothes and handcuffs.
The Keeping Up with the Kardashians alum has since been the target of hate and criticism as netizens bring up the tense political happenings in America in the wake of the teaser.
Since the Department of Homeland Security is conducting Immigration and Customs Enforcement or ICE raids, many internet users called out the socialite for being insensitive and incorporating the police.
Netizens flocked to Reddit to comment on the teaser, with one writing, “The country’s boiling over, citizens being dragged off by rogue badge hungry rent-a-cops, and Kylie Jenner drops a handcuffed hot-pants photoshoot to promote COSMETICS. This isn’t satire; it’s American rot.”
Other internet users agreed with the sentiment adding, “King Kylie, read the room!” referring to her persona from her late teenage to early 20s era, in which the Kardashian would dress and flamboyantly and act like a baddie.
Another person agreed saying, “Weird flex when ICE are kidnapping people. Poor taste as usual.”
Kylie has two children, Stormi and Aire Webster which are seven and three respectively.
