Khalid releases new album ‘After the Sun Goes Down’

Khalid has just dropped his fourth studio album After the Sun Goes Down, and the pleasantly surprising blend of pop and R&B might just be what the music industry was currently lacking.

The 27-year-old’s latest album is sonically cohesive with its 17 tracks, and the lyrics include a mix of vulnerability and openness.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, the Better hit maker stated, “I’m so inspired by the Rihanna’s and the Britney’s and the Janet’s, and I’m discovering music on my own, and I’m discovering pop, and I’m just discovering monster records for the first time.”

The single Out Of Body is definitely reminiscent of the Toxic singer’s music and the overall album contains a dreamy synth-pop sound similar to The Weeknd’s sound but Khalid’s signature style and influence reigns supreme.

"I look at this as more like an homage or just thanks to the icons that paved the way for me to be able to do this, and, a more current lens, as a now openly gay black man,” the singer added.

Initial reviews from netizens under the Location singer’s announcement read, “It’s so fucking goood. Whenever you’re gone is my favorite.”

“K IM SO SO PROUD OF YOU!!!! The lyrics and production???? I need to go listen again oh my goddd,” added another of the catchy melodies and easy to memorise lyrics.

Is Khalid related to Billie Eilish?

Khalid is a friend of Billie Eilish's and the two collaborated on the popular track Lovely.
