Taylor Swift was expected to return stronger than ever after reclaiming her master recordings following a public feud with Scooter Braun.

To celebrate this major milestone, the 35-year-old released her new album The Life Of A Showgirl only to receive heavy backlash and public scrutiny which she might have not anticipated.

However, it was expected that the new melodies will have her signature depth which was noticeably missing. On top of that, the Lover crooner is now being called out for copying hit tracks from famous musicians.

List down are all the tracks from The Life Of A Showgirl that fans believe are not original:

1. Life Of A Showgirl

According to several online theories, Cool by The Jonas Brothers and Halo by Beyonce were ripped off by the pop icon for creating The Life Of A Showgirl title track, which also features Sabrina Carpenter.

No Air by Jordin Sparks featuring Chris Brown was also listed by netizens as a closely resembling track.

2. Actually Romantic

An X user pointed out that the newly dropped Actually Romantic sounded “similar to the intro” of Where is my mind? by the Pixies. The 1988 song by frontman Black Francis has lyrics that are actually inspired from his swimming experience in the Caribbean.

3. CANCELLED!

CANCELLED! is seemingly based on the songstress’ friendship fallout with Blake Lively. However, many admirers rushed to the platform to reveal that the melody “sounded so familiar” because it “had a similar beat to Yellow Flicker Beat” By Lorde.

4. Eldest Daughter

Eldest Daughter was appreciated by music lovers for being about a relatable role she played in her life as she sings: “Every eldest daughter was the first lamb to the slaughter.”

However, Instagram influencers claim the song’s melody matches that of The Subway By Chappell Roan, which was reportedly written about fictional characters for a TV show.

5. Wi$h Li$t

Wi$h Li$t created an interesting buzz for presumably dissing Kardashians as the Love Story singer previously had a public feud with Kim and her then-husband Kanye West.

A netizen was of the opinion that they heard “Bed Chem [by Sabrina Carpenter] in the chorus” where she sings about having “a couple of kids” with fiancé Travis Kelce to get “the whole block looking like you.”

6. Wood

The single Wood has been subjected to heavy public scrutiny for its lyrics that were labelled as “cringe.” A report added fire to the fuel claiming that Wood is an exact copy of classic I Want You Back by The Jackson 5 from 1969.

7. Opalite

Opalite, a very special track that is dedicated to romance between Taylor and the love of her life Travis, is rumoured to have sampled Be My Baby by The Ronettes.

Many admitted they “immediately thought of” the classic from 1963 after listening to a lyric that goes “But now the sky is opalite Oh, oh-oh-oh-oh-oh…This is just a storm inside a teacup”

8. The Fate Of Ophelia

The Fate Of Ophelia, the lead single of the record which also got a music video, instantly became fan-favourite for its catchy tune and Hamlet references.

Meanwhile, an admirer played it alongside Demi Lovato’s Give Your Heart A Break, noting they sound exactly similar. The influencer was of the opinion these similarities are a hint at her “beef” from the past.
