Eric Dane regretfully revealed the reason for his absence at the Emmy Awards.

The 52-year-old American actor opened up about his disease, ALS and the cause that stopped him from being beside his "brother-like" co-star Jesse Williams for the award presentation at Emmys.

Jesse and Dane were slated to be the presenters to mark the 20th anniversary of the show Greys Anatomy at the ceremony but ended up with confused fans questioning where he was ad why was Jesse alone?

On October 2, during a conversation with The Washington Post, Mcsteamy confessed that his condition is getting worse and that was one of the reasons, he did not go to the award show.

He said, “I missed an opportunity I was really looking forward to. It would have been great to be able to present in front of my colleagues I thought would have a been special moment.”

He further added that due to his disease he ended up in the hospital after falling in his kitchen.

“ALS is a nasty disease. … So I was in the hospital during the Emmys getting stitches put in my head.” He concluded.

Dane also claimed he was very upset due to the circumstances hi was in but there was only so much he could do.

For the unfamiliar, Dane sat for an interview with People in April and confirmed that he has been diagnosed with ALS, which is a fatal motor neuron disease.
