Selena Gomez recently honored Becky G with a surprising tribute for the Time100 Next list.
On September 30, the Time magazine released its 2025 influential rising star list, which also included singer Becky G.
Gomez, who was recognized as the most influential person in 2020, honored the 28-year-old with a heartfelt tribute.
She wrote, “Through the years, I have watched her excel not only as an artist but also as a woman, an advocate, and a voice for our community. The world needs more energy like my friend Becky’s.”
The 33-year-old singer penned that the Maimii hitmaker has a powerful presence and has never let the world define her.
Netizens praised Gomez for supporting Becky through and through. One fan commented, “NOW COLLAB.” Another follower penned, “Love the Gomez girlies.”
Though the musicians haven’t collaborated on any songs, they both transitioned their careers from singers to actresses, with Becky portraying Valentino Galindo in the series Empire and voice acting in Blue Beetle.
Meanwhile, Gomez started as a child actress at Disney and is now a main lead in the Emmy-winning series, Only Murders in the Building.
The show recently premiered its fifth season in September with over 10 episodes, like previous seasons.
Yes, Becky G released her latest single, Que Haces, in May 2025 and Candy Gum in the same month.
