Hollywood power couple Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban called off their 19-year marriage, but she fought to save it before it fell apart.
On Tuesday, September 30, the Oscar winner’s filing for divorce was confirmed in Nashville courts after the Grammy-winning singer’s separation news made headlines.
According to PEOPLE’s source, Kidman “feels very betrayed” after she initiated a legal separation. On Monday, September 29, a source revealed that the actress “didn’t want this,” and Kidman “has been fighting to save the marriage.”
The former Tom Cruise spouse shares two daughters with Urban: Sunday, 17, and Faith, 14.
Kidman and Urban, who tied the knot in June 2006, were last seen publicly on June 20, attending the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup clash between Los Angeles Football Club and Espérance de Tunis at GEODIS Park in Nashville.
Their previous joint outing came a month earlier, when the pair walked the red carpet at the 2025 Academy of Country Music Awards in Frisco, Texas, on May 8.
According to reports, the couple quietly went their separate ways in early summer.
A source revealed this week that the couple’s “lives were moving in different directions, and once he quietly set up his own place, it felt like the writing was on the wall.”
“It really hasn’t been a secret in their circles that Keith and Nicole have been living separately for a while now,” the insider added. “People close to Keith felt like the split was kind of inevitable.”
