Hollywood actress Jennifer Lopez gave a quirky response to the Oscar buzz surrounding her first movie-musical role in Kiss of the Spider Woman.
On the September 28 episode of CBS News Sunday Morning, the pop icon spoke with host Lee Cowan about her career and her latest movie.
The host asked the pop icon where she “puts awards expectations.”
Asked by Cowan where she "puts" awards "expectations," Lopez playfully replied with a laugh, "I don't, I don't... I learned my lesson last time."
"But also, the joy, for me, is in doing it. Every single moment," she added. "It's great to be in the conversation ... like, you're doing work that people recognize, and that they love. That's enough."
However, it doesn’t mean that Lopez is going to let her work go unrecognized.
"It's not that you can't want more, or that you don't wanna stand up there and say thank you,” she explained to Cowan. “Of course, we all want that."
"But I realized that I don't need it in the way that maybe I thought when I was younger," she continued, quipping, "Not that I wouldn't love it, I just wanna do that little disclaimer!"
"I'd be very grateful for that too," Lopez added, sharing a laugh with the interviewer.
Jennifer Lopez earned critical acclaim for her role in Hustlers, where she played a real-life exotic dancer who conned wealthy Wall Street clients. Though Lopez scored a Golden Globe nomination, an Oscar nod never came her way.
