Dwayne Johnson gets teary as he opens up about daughter

Dwayne Johnson got emotional as he revealed his feelings about raising his daughter, Simone, into an amazing human being.

During a conversation with MTV UK on September 24, at the special screening for his upcoming movie The Smashing Machine, the Rock confessed how his daughter gave him profound sense of pride.

The movie features Emily Blunt and Dwayne as Mark Kerr and Dawn Staples, respectively.

It is a biopic of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) champion, who fought against his addiction for painkillers at the peak of his career.

The father-daughter duo made a stunning appearance on the red carpet as the actor opened up about his daughter when asked how proud he is of her.

With tears in his eyes, he paused for a moment and started that he is very proud of his daughter, he is proud that she chose to do something he has done for so long.

The Mummy Returns star pointed out that what actually made him emotional was when he heard her say that she wants to carve out her own path.

He emphasized that it’s easy for any kid to go after their parents, and to utilize the influence but she wanted to do it on her own.

“I would have been here anyways, I would have made the call but she never asked me that ‘can you make the call, that’s what makes me proud”, the 53-year-old concluded.
