Doja Cat recently addressed the backlash she received on her fifth studio album cover.
On September 22, the 29-year-old songstress took to her instagram to explain the deep meaning behind the cover of her album, Vie, after she received negative feedback from her fans.
The fans pointed out how the choice of the cover of the album could be anything but the rapper chose it to be a picture of a yellow parachute stuck in a tree, while she hangs in a white dress.
She posted the picture with the caption interpreting how the yellow parachute explained the curiosity and happiness and meant flying towards new experiences while taking the leap of faith.
“You can’t make me feel bad for a cover that has visceral meaning. I forgive your harsh criticism but for me I won yet again for following my heart.” The Grammy winner concluded.
Notably, Doja stood by her choice and defended the cover, however some fans supported the billboard artist as one fan penned, “I love the meaning behind it!!!”
Another admirer gushed, “We love a deeper meaning.”
For the unversed, Doja’s album consist of 15 tracks and will be released on September 26.
