American podcaster and right-wing political activist Charlie Kirk was assassinated on September 10 in Utah.
The late podcaster is survived by widow Erika and two children.
Erika gave an emotional speech on her late husband’s public memorial in Glendale, Arizona, where she “forgave” his assassin.
In an interview with The New York Times, Erika revealed that she kept a pendant that belonged to Charlie.
Charlie was wearing the small St. Michael icon when he was shot on his neck at the Utah Valley University.
The pendant was stained with his blood as he was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The cross still carries traces of his blood in its crevice, which Erika has kept as a haunting memento.
Erika also revealed that she was told by the officials not to view her husband’s dead body which she refuted saying, “With all due respect, I want to see what they did to my husband.”
Prosecutors have charged 22-year-old Utah resident Tyler Robinson for shooting Charlie. If convicted, he can face death penalty.
