Cardi B, who recently made headlines with her upcoming album Am I the Drama?, has revealed an unexpected detail about her recent civil assault trial.
The 32-year-old rapper, known for her chart-topping hits, appeared on The Jennifer Hudson Show, where she discussed the courtroom drama.
During the interview, Cardi admitted that she had nodded off during one of her trial sessions due to exhaustion from her hectic schedule.
"I’m not even going to lie, I was. I had a long night!" she confessed.
"I’m in the middle of an album rollout, and I was so sleepy… I was trying to fight it, but I just couldn’t."
The trial, in which the WAP singer was accused of assaulting a security guard, ended with her being cleared by a Los Angeles jury.
However, the songstress, who is balancing her music career, family life, and legal issues, explained how overwhelming it all became.
"I missed my kids' first day of school, and then I get to court, and it’s being televised. I thought, ‘You’ve got to be kidding me,’" she told the 44-year-old singer.
Despite her fame, the Rodeo hitmaker has previously admitted that she sometimes feels less happy now than she did before achieving stardom.
Currently promoting her highly anticipated album, Am I the Drama?, she is clearly continuing to ride high on her success.
The Grammy-winning singer has also announced that her album will be released on September 19 through Atlantic Records.
For those unfamiliar, the record marks her second studio release, following her debut album Invasion of Privacy from 2016.
Cardi B's current husband is Offset, a rapper and member of the hip-hop group Migos.
They got married in 2017, though their relationship has had some ups and downs over the years, including a brief separation in 2020.
They seem to have reconciled and have two children together: a daughter named Kulture and a son named Wave.
