American actor Malcolm-Jamal Warner, who rose to fame from the hit show The Cosby Show, passed away in accidental drowning in Costa Rica.
The late actor was on vacation with his wife, Tenisha Warner, and daughter at a beach on Costa Rica’s Caribbean coast.
Now, after two months of his death, his widow has spoken up publicly for the first time.
Tenisha revealed in a statement that she will be creating a foundation, named The Warner Family Foundation, with their daughter and a partner organization called River & Ember.
In a post shared on Instagram, she wrote, “Thank you for holding us in so much love during this tender time.”
The post featured a picture of Tenisha with her last husband on their wedding day.
Writing about their wedding anniversary, that is tomorrow, she wrote, “For the first time, I’m sharing a glimpse of the love that began it all.”
She ended the note remembering her husband, “To the river that carried us. To the ember that never goes out. Your love was the first story I ever wanted to keep telling.”
Malcolm’s eventual cause of death was revealed to be accidental asphyxiation by submersion.
