Stephen Colbert tries to KISS Jennifer Aniston in cheeky moment

Jennifer Aniston, an A-list Hollywood Emmy-winning actress, hinted at what Stephen Colbert’s next job could be after The Late Show wraps.

On Thursday, Sept. 11, the Emmy-winner appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and brought some scripts from the potential season five of The Morning Show.

The script had fake scenarios that could become reality if the Apple TV+ hit series is renewed and gives Colbert a role.

Aniston, who believes Colbert is a “brilliant actor,” teased that they’re "doing some preliminary casting for this fifth season, that we hope happens," and wanted to give Colbert a chance while she had him.

"So I just thought, 'Why not?' You're going to be free next year," she jested. "Starting in June, you're avail? So I thought maybe you could audition for season 5 of The Morning Show! Isn't that sort of perfect?"

Colbert didn’t hesitate, immediately saying he’d “fly out” to L.A. for an audition. But Aniston had the script in hand and a scene for him to try on the spot.

“We’ve got cameras rolling, so why not get you on tape?” she quipped.

She cast him as a “sexier” version of Steve Carell, The Morning Show’s newest weatherman, Jeremiah Cloudson-Storm. The skit even poked fun at the real-life cancellation of The Late Show.

“I see you’re coming off two decades of late-night weather,” Aniston said.

“Yeah, I had the number-one late-night weather show… until the network canceled it,” Colbert shot back, to which Aniston joked, “Sounds ripped from the headlines.” He added, “Changed just enough to not be legally actionable.”

The scene wrapped with Aniston offering his character a job at UBN, but things took a cheeky turn. As Colbert shook her hand, he leaned in for an unscripted kiss.

Aniston, startled, quickly pulled back, wide-eyed, before laughing, “That’s not in the script, you gotta stick to the script!”

The moment ended with both stars cracking up, smiling, and holding hands.
