Scottish acting royalty Brian Cox, who is known for his work in shows like Deadwood and Succession, has been a vocal critic of the president of the United States, Donald Trump.

In a recent interview with The Telegraph, the actor branded Trump as a "villain".

“I think Donald Trump is a very good example of a villain, because he has no empathy whatsoever”, Brian said.

Giving his personal opinion on him, the actor said he is a clever man but he personally does not “like the man”.

Previously, Brian has called him a monster while appearing as a guest on Channel 4’s live coverage of the US election last year.

Brian, who lives between London and Brooklyn, described the US president as a “force that is self-serving”. He also added that Trump is pushing US towards an oligarchy.

An oligarchy is a corrupt form of government where the power is in the hands of few groups of elites who advance their own interests while the common man suffers.

“In a country like that, someone who is so self-serving just creates an oligarchy, which is what he’s moving towards. That won’t work,”, Brian famously commented.

Former US president Joe Biden, who won the 2020 elections against Trump, also argued the same as he warned of the dangers of an oligarchy gaining power in the US.
