Macaulay Culkin declares 'Home Alone 2' better than the original

Macaulay Culkin starred in one of the most iconic holidays movies of Hollywood, Home Alone.

The 1990 original follows a boy stuck in home during holiday while he is trying to defend himself and his house from criminals and burglars.

The movie even after 35 years is a Christmas classic and Macaulay Culkin is known for his role as Kevin McCallister.

Years later, Macaulay has revealed which edition of the series is his favourite and contrary to public opinion, he thinks Home Alone 2: Lost in New York is better than the first one.

In an appearance he made on the Hot Ones, the host Sean Evens, asked him which movie he believes is better.

Macaulay answered that the second one is better because he “got paid more”.

“I think I own five per cent of the net [gross] and also 15 per cent of the merchandising”, he explained.

“So if you buy a Talkboy, I’m like, ‘Yeah, I’ll take 15 per cent of that, thank you very much!”.

In the second edition of the franchise, Kevin loses his family at the airport as they rush to catch flight to Florida and he boards a flight to New York instead.

Made in a budget of $28 million in 1992, the movie made $359 million.
