Rebecca Adlington, Andy Parsons faced unseen heartbreak in silence

Andy Parsons, the husband of Rebecca Adlington, has talked about how his wife's two miscarriages broke him and the loss of their unborn children.

The couple, who named their daughter Harper after their second miscarriage at 20 weeks in 2023, also lost a baby at 12 weeks the previous year.

The 35-year-old Andy disclosed for the first time the effects of the loss, "I told myself I was OK but inside I was really struggling,” in an interview with the Sunday Times.

Harper had to have an induced labour and stillbirth after Andy and Rebecca learnt during a heartbreaking ultrasound scan that she no longer had a heartbeat.

“Despite how devastated I was, I didn't care about how I felt. You have the easy job as a guy because the woman is the one who is under stress. I immediately went into comfort mode, protection mode, and just being there for Becky,” he said.

Andy is the stepfather of Rebecca's 10-year-old daughter Summer from a previous marriage, and the couple has a four-year-old son named Albie.
