The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, was interrupted during his much-awaited hometown concert in Montreal.
Although the singer was excited to rock the Montreal crowd, he faced an unusual setback while performing live for the concertgoers.
The 35-year-old aggressively waved in the air and covered his eyes to avoid flying bugs that bothered him throughout the show.
However, the Blinding Lights hitmaker seemingly laughed off the unprecedented situation by sharing the clip to his Instagram story.
Meanwhile fans also complained about facing similar issue as one X user wrote: “They were so bad!”
Another netizen poked fun that this will forever “rent free in my head when I get attacked by bugs now on.”
This came after the Grammy winner was honoured with the Key to the City and "The Weeknd Weekend" by the Mayor of Toronto, Olivia Chow.
He was recognised for his contributions during COVID-19 as the singer raised and donated $500k to Scarborough Health Network.
The R&B singer also played a key role in the establishment of University of Toronto’s “Ethopian Studies program.
The ongoing seventh musical tour The After Hours is Abel’s last as his infamous musical moniker The Weeknd. His fans pointed out the evident sadness in his latest album Hurry Up Tomorrow where he reflects on being known by his persona.
