Ozzy Osbourne’s unexpected passing rocked the world, as well as one his closest friends Terence “Geezer” Butler, who had been friends with the rockstar for more than fifty years.
The Black Sabbath bassist opened up about everything from the time they got together to the 76-year-old’s historic farewell show.
In the issue for The Sunday Times, the Birmingham native recalled their final gig, for which they reunited after years of being inactive, and the way it ended not being satisfactory for him.
“Tony shook his hand, I presented him with a cake, but it was such a strange feeling to end our story like that. I wish I’d had more time backstage with Ozzy, but wishes are redundant now,” he stated.
The 76-year-old went on to note, “We had gone through the best of times and the worst of times; the bond was unbreakable.”
Terence also gave Ozzy’s nickname a personal twist, saying the ‘Prince of Darkness’ for him was the ‘Prince of Laughter’ since the heavy metal pioneer was a born entertainer.
Notably, the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer was suffering from Parkinson’s disease and passed away on July 22.
Jason Momoa, who has been a huge fan of Black Sabbath’s lead vocalist, shared a picture with the deceased star and a caption: “Love you @ozzyosbourne All my aloha @sharonosbourne and ohana. So grateful. RIP”
