Mariah Carey admits having no birthday

Mariah Carey, who was recently honoured with BET Ultimate Icon Award, opened up about her unique beliefs in a new interview.

The 56-year-old singer has always talked about not acknowledging time or clocks previously.

During her appearance on Capital FM radio, Mariah explained why she doesn’t celebrate birthdays when asked by the hosts about things she supports.

Jordan North raised a question about her not believing “the passing of time,” to which she confirmed by saying “That is true.”

Sian Welby got curious if she “celebrate[s]" her birthday.” Mariah maintained that she doesn’t “have a birthday.”

However, the Obsessed hitmaker said she does mark “anniversaries.”

The unconventional way of thing perplexed the hosts as Chris Stark pointed out “how would we know when” to meet up.

She answered: “I would have someone call you and figure it out.”

The It’s a Wrap hitmaker has been vocal about her unique ways of calculating age as she previously revealed: “I don’t count years, but I definitely rebuke them.”

Why does Mariah Carey not celebrate her birthday?

The two-time Grammy winner stated the reason for not marking birthdays in an earlier interview, saying it's “because I celebrate life.”

Apart from having distinguished way of thinking, it was reported that the diva is very demanding when it comes to her performances.

This was confirmed by the American singer herself as she disclosed during the interview about “totally” changing her dressing rooms before putting up a show.

The songstress is looking forward to dropping her 16th studio album in 2025.
