Mariah Carey makes sparkling outfit changes at 2025 BET Awards

Chart-topping legend Mariah Carey was honoured with the Ultimate Icon Award at the 15th BET Awards on Monday, June 9, after skipping the red carpet.

Although her absence from the red carpet was noticeable, Carey made a striking entrance with an onstage performance.

The Grammy winner delivered a disco-glam performance of the lead single from her upcoming 16th studio album, Type Dangerous, followed by It's Like That.

Carey donned a metallic gold minidress with matching heels, accessorising with dazzling bedazzled hoops and layers of eye-catching bracelets.

The pop queen styled her curls into sleek, straight hair, keeping her look demure and 90s-coded.

Carey was honoured with the BET Ultimate Icon Award alongside Jamie Foxx, Kirk Franklin, and Snoop Dogg.

To accept the honour, the Pop & R&B icon stepped out in a curve-hugging, glittering corset gown—a floor-length white design with a low-cut sweetheart neckline. She paired it with a diamond necklace featuring a large gemstone and her signature stack of bracelets.

She styled her hair in a half ponytail, leaving honey-blonde tresses framing her face.

The Obsessed hitmaker accepted her award, declaring, 'I decided to own who I am,' during her speech."
