Meghan Markle reveals Princess Lilibet's hobby shared with Kate Middleton
The Duchess of Sussex shares a new clip of her and Prince Harry's daughter, Princess Lilibet
Princess Lilibet has inherited more than red hair from her dad Prince Harry’s side of the family, as revealed by mom Meghan Markle.
On Tuesday, May 27, the Duchess of Sussex took to Instagram to share a video of herself and Lilibet harvesting honey together, just days ahead of the young princess' fourth birthday on June 4.
“Harvesting honey with my little honey,” Meghan, 43, captioned the clip, adding, “Like mother, like daughter; she’s even wearing my gloves” in parentheses.
The wholesome video, originally posted to Meghan’s Stories on May 25, shows the pair suited up in protective beekeeper gear as they approach a hive to collect fresh honeycomb.
Set to the nostalgic tune Sugar, Sugar by The Archies, the video captures Meghan pulling a honeycomb swarming with bees, while Lilibet watches with wide-eyed curiosity. The scene then shifts to Meghan’s kitchen, where the mom-of-two carefully jars the honey.
Fans of her Netflix series With Love, Meghan may remember her earlier venture into beekeeping. On the show, she reflected on the hobby, saying, “It’s like also that little reminder to do something that scares you a little bit... Because it’s beautiful to be this connected.”
Beekeeping might just run in the royal family. Meghan’s sister-in-law Kate Middleton also marked World Bee Day this month with a honey-harvesting video.
Queen Camilla is an enthusiast, too, with her own hives in Wiltshire and a long-standing role with the charity Bees for Development.
