Princess Diana once said that the UK is "lucky" to have her eldest son, Prince William. And over 25 years after her tragic death, the late royal’s powerful words have turned out to be true.
According to royal insider and former BBC correspondent Jennie Bond, Diana had a strong sense that Prince William would grow up to be not just a future king, but a beloved one.
Speaking to The Mirror, Bond recalled a moment with the Princess of Wales: “As Diana once said to me: ‘William’s alright. The country is very lucky to have William.’”
A new YouGov poll shows Prince William is officially the most popular royal in the UK with a whopping 75 percent of Brits giving him the thumbs up.
That’s higher than anyone else in the royal family, including King Charles.
“He’s informal, approachable, and speaks in a way that feels normal, not overly posh,” said Bond.
Bond added: “William himself has said it’s vital for the monarchy to stay relevant and in touch.”
“Opinion polls may not be perfect, but they’re a decent way to know if the royals are connecting with the people, and clearly, William is.”
