Michael J. Fox influenced Jason Segel in ‘How I Met Your Mother’

Jason Segel attended the Shrinking FYC Event at Apple TV+ Emmy House, The Hollywood Athletic Club, in Los Angeles where he opened up about his co-star on the show, Michael J. Fox.

When asked if he has gotten the chance to discuss his favourite moments from the 1985 flick Back to the Future with Fox, Segel remarked, “I didn't get so specific as much as telling him that he was an idol of mine.”

He continued, “I got the chance to tell him that he was a huge inspiration to me while I was in a weirdly similar situation doing How I Met Your Mother and movies at the same time and being tired. We always would talk about Michael J. Fox and what he was doing with Back to the Future and Family Ties at the same time.”

“He's an idol for sure,” Segel added.

The pair are currently working together on the third season of Shrinking, which is the first time Fox has returned to acting on camera since retiring in 2020 due to Parkinson’s.
