Kate Middleton silently shuts down Meghan Markle's 'no hugs' accusation

Kate Middleton is letting her actions do the talking, and royal fans are calling it a quiet clapback.

The Princess of Wales, 43, stepped out for a sun-soaked appearance at the Buckingham Palace garden party on Tuesday, dazzling in a bright yellow ensemble and winning hearts with her warmth, and her hugs.

The same gesture Meghan Markle once claimed left Kate and Prince William “jarred.”

In the 2022 Harry & Meghan Netflix docuseries, the Duchess of Sussex opened up about her first meeting with the royal couple, recalling: “When Will and Kate came over and I was meeting her for the first time… I was a hugger, I’ve always been a hugger. I didn’t realize that is really jarring for a lot of Brits.”

Meghan also implied that the royal formality seen in public extended into private interactions, suggesting the couple didn’t appreciate such casual closeness.

But fast forward to this week, and Kate was seen doing the exact opposite, embracing attendees, sharing laughs, and radiating ease.

One photo in particular of Kate hugging Holocaust survivor Steven Frank, quickly made the rounds online, prompting fans to nickname her “the Princess of Hugs.”

“She is a hugger,” one fan declared on X. “And who said the royals didn’t hug? This is pure joy… not something staged for the cameras,” another added.
