King Charles pays sweet tribute to Prince William, Princess Kate after key duty

Prince William and Kate Middleton received special instructions from King Charles, which they also fulfilled remarkably. 

The future King and Queen represented the monarch at Buckingham Palace's tea party alongside other key members of the royal family. 

After the royal engagement, the King gave a sweet nod to the Prince and Princess of Wales in a new statement for successfully leading the family. 

Alongside delightful photos from the event, the monarch's spokesperson said, "This afternoon, The Prince and Princess of Wales attended a Garden Party at Buckingham Palace, on behalf of The King."

"Their Royal Highnesses were joined in the gardens by The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, as well as The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester."

"Historically, Garden Parties took the place of presentation parties attended by debutantes, and have evolved into a way of recognising and rewarding public service."

Notably, William and Catherine stepped in for the King after they received a new honour as a working royals.

Time named the Prince and Princess of Wales to its 2025 Time100 Philanthropy list, praising them as trailblazers in "modernising royal philanthropy."
