Prince Harry has been slammed as "treacherous" after his latest swipe at the royal family, with a royal expert saying he missed a crucial chance to make amends.

Royal photographer Arthur Edwards didn't mince words when speaking on The Sun’s Royal Exclusive show, accusing Harry of refusing to own up to his mistakes.

He said: "When he had the chance to correct a lot of it, he didn’t do that. He didn't say, 'look, I probably got that wrong, Dad, and I'm sorry, William.' What he did, it was pretty treacherous."

Arthur Edwards suggested that Harry could have easily taken a different approach. "If he'd have said in that interview 'I'm sorry Dad for what I've done,' I think then the King would have probably said 'okay let's have a chat.'"

"All he needs to do is say sorry and promise not to betray the royal family again he just got it all wrong," Edwards said.

What did Prince Harry say in his BBC interview?

During his BBC interview with Nada Tawfik, Harry unleashed a string of new claims, including that King Charles is no longer speaking to him and that he has "uncovered his worst fears" about the royal family’s role in his security downgrade.

Although Harry stated that he would "love reconciliation" with his family and expressed sadness over not knowing "how much longer" his father has, he also doubled down by saying he had no regrets even if forgiveness was off the table.
