Taylor Swift, whose song My Tears Ricochet was used in the infamous film It Ends With Us, has now been confirmed as a witness in the never ending legal battle between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni.
The How Did It End? singer’s representative issued out a statement detailing the 35-year-old’s involvement in the movie.
The spokesperson stated to People,” "Taylor Swift never set foot on the set of this movie, she was not involved in any casting or creative decisions, she did not score the film, she never saw an edit or made any notes on the film, she did not even see It Ends With Us until weeks after its public release, and was traveling around the globe during 2023 and 2024 headlining the biggest tour in history."
The representative, who was referring to the 14-time Grammy winner’s Eras Tour, further noted that the extent of Taylor’s involvement ends with her allowing the film to use her song in the Colleen Hoover adaptation.
“Given that her involvement was licensing a song for the film, which 19 other artists also did, this document subpoena is designed to use Taylor Swift’s name to draw public interest by creating tabloid clickbait instead of focusing on the facts of the case," the agent told.
The case, which was initially a sexual harassment suit against It Ends With Us director and co-star Justin, 41, by Blake, 37, got countered by the Jane the Virgin actor with a defamation case of his own.
No, Hugh has not been subpoenaed as of yet. However, buzz around his subpoena has not died down and netizens speculate that he might receive his order to appear in court next.
