American singer Sabrina Carpenter has shared her father’s amusing response to her viral Met Gala moment with Usher.
Usher is well-known for his strange custom of giving women cherries at his performance, especially when the hit song There Goes My Baby is playing.
During the festivities in New York City on Monday, he was also seen feeding a cheery to the Espresso singer herself.
The 25-year-old honoured the event by sharing a number of behind-the-scene photos on Instagram earlier today.
She shared her dad’s thoughts on the move after including a cheeky photo of herself near the end of the scroll, with her head cooked back and her tongue rising while the rapper dangled a cherry in front of her.
On the last slide, she displayed a screen grab of a text message from her father that included the words, “? Weird” and an X link, which was formerly Twitter, discussing the cherry moment.
The text was hilarious, according to the comments, and the singer himself wrote: “Apologies, Mr. Carpenter.”
In December 2023, Carpenter started dating Irish actor Barry Keoghan, but they eventually split in December 2024.
