Katseye slammed for ‘nonsense’ track ‘Gnarly’

Girl group Katseye have just released their new track as well as their first single, Gnarly, however, the response has been far from positive.

After the track dropped, fans of the group took to social media to criticize the lyrics and production.

“Gnarly is genuinely one of the worst songs ive ever heard and i love katseye but that actually sounded like a joke,” wrote a user while another insisted, “whoever wrote this PLEASE retire.”

Fans who had been waiting for a comeback from the group admitted to being majorly disappointed with Gnarly, “wow I had such high hopes for katseye’s comeback but gnarly was… yikes. what even was that? who wrote that song? it makes zero sense and is not cohesive in the slightest. and what is the point of having incredible singers in your group if you’re not utilizing them?”

Some compared them to K-pop groups that are known for having unique productions, “gnarly by katseye… i see what they were trying to do but it was a complete failure. it’s just corny lyrics in a not cool girl way. like this song is so bad sonically that it could pass as an nct song. and it’s so bad lyrically it could pass as a soyeon rap.”
