Pete Davidson did not garner any sympathy from internet users, after he opened up about his self-esteem issues.
The King Of Staten Island star talked about fame, faking confidence, and public perception in an interview published on Sunday.
The Saturday Night Live alum dished to People, “If you guys think I have confidence, I have been fooling everyone. It’s so difficult to say anything in print and not be afraid to come across the wrong way.”
However, Pete went on to say that he had recently had a change of perspective, telling the outlet that he no longer giving in to his “people pleasing” tendencies and instead focusing on what really matters.
“At the end of the day, it’s like your family matters and your two or three friends that you have matter. Everybody else can go f**k themselves, and you don’t have to put all this pressure on yourself,” the 31-year-old stated.
Pete noted that he adapted this approach because “who cares what people you don't even know think?“
One of the people Pete “doesn’t know”, wrote under the report, “I know who Pete Davidson is and no, he has not been "fooling" me. He is seems to be a no talent clown.”
Another noted, “He's been fooling me alright, I haven't a clue who he is.”
A third chimed in, “The word 'Confidence,' wouldn't make my Top 100 List of words to describe Pete Davidson.”
A fourth simply penned, “Pete who?”
Pete Davidson has been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder, and also Crohn's disease. The comedian has also checked into rehab for post-traumatic stress disorder.
