Fans of Taylor Swift are convinced the pop sensation will take on Whitney Houston’s iconic role in a reimagining of the beloved 1992 film The Bodyguard.

In the original version of the romantic thriller, Kevin Costner played Frank Farmer, a former Secret Service agent who now works as a professional bodyguard and is hired to defend actress and singer Rachel Marron (Houston) from an unidentified stalker.

Thirteen years after Houston drowned in a hotel bathtub in Beverly Hills at the age of forty-eight, the director of Swift's 2023 documentary, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, is reportedly working on a remake.

Fans have projected that the 35-year-old might be replacing Houston in the remake due to a number of interesting details.

On Monday, model Tyra Banks offered her opinion on the matter, recommending 52-year-old Idris Elba for the main role in the upcoming adaptation.

In light of the most recent speculation, the Daily Mail examined every clue suggesting that the Bad Blood hitmaker could take on the legendary role.

Is Taylor Swift really playing Whitney Houston’s role in The Bodyguard remake?

As of now, Taylor Swift has not been confirmed to play Whitney Houston’s role in The Bodyguard remake.

Tyra Banks has supported the idea but the film’s casting has not been officially announced with reports also suggesting that the lead role may go to a young Latina actress.
