Netflix may not renew its multimillion-pound deal with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, but that doesn’t mean they’re cutting ties completely.
According to this week's episode of The Rest Is Entertainment podcast, streaming bosses might be keeping the couple in their orbit “in case there’s a divorce.”
Podcast host Marina Hyde discussed Meghan’s new Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, and the royal couple’s uncertain future with the platform.
“They’re not going to renew, but they might say they’re continuing to develop projects with them,” Hyde claimed, per the Daily Mail.
The journalist and screenwriter also suggested that Hollywood power players are keeping an eye on Meghan and Harry’s marriage.
“A lot of people are hanging around in case there’s a divorce,” she added, implying that potential business opportunities could emerge if the Sussexes split.
Reports of Netflix’s new decision comes as With Love, Meghan faces mixed reviews despite racking up 12.6 million viewing hours. While impressive, it pales in comparison to the couple’s 2022 docuseries, Harry & Meghan, which hit 97.7 million hours in its first week. Still, the show has secured a second season, set to premiere this fall.
Alongside her Netflix venture, Meghan has been busy launching her lifestyle brand, As Ever, and preparing for her new podcast, Confessions of a Female Founder.
