Meghan Markle’s Netflix show has been widely mocked online since its release, and while the Duchess of Sussex has secured a second season, an expert is warning that she needs to make major changes if she wants the show to be taken seriously.

Speaking to Express, royal expert and film critic Richard Fitzwilliams shared key recommendations for Meghan to improve With Love, Meghan and ensure it doesn’t become a joke on the internet.

According to Fitzwilliams, the biggest change Meghan should make is securing high-profile guests.

"Meghan should get genuine A-listers like Serena Williams or even Oprah [Winfrey]. Not people we don’t know," he said.

The expert also suggested that Prince Harry should have a small role to generate more audience interest.

"Harry should have a small role. He’s a draw. You need more interest than just you. Archie and Lili might briefly appear—that would draw in a larger audience," he added.

Another big criticism of With Love, Meghan has been the way guests interact with her. "Stop the guests gushing all over you. We know you love yourself, but it's cringey," Fitzwilliams advised.

Beyond guest appearances, the expert pointed out other elements of the show that should be tweaked. Fitzwilliams called the loud background music “very distracting.”

Moreover, since show was filmed in someone else’s house, he believes it “needs a more personal touch” beyond just a few photos.

Other than that, the expert suggested that Meghan should avoid emphasizing lavish details, adding, “not everyone can afford bubbles.”

What is Meghan Markle's show 'With Love, Meghan' about?

As per Netflix, Meghan’s new show will see her “reimagine the genre of lifestyle programming” as she along with her celebrity friends roll “up their sleeves in the kitchen, the garden, and beyond, and invite you to do the same”.

The series is part of Meghan and Prince Harry’s multi-year deal with Netflix, which they signed in 2020. The eight-part lifestyle series will mark Meghan’s return to her roots, featuring hosting and entertaining tips while welcoming celebrity friends on the show.
