Prince William isn’t hiding his frustration with his favourite football team, prompting Kate Middleton to tease him.
During a visit to Pontypridd, Wales, this week, the Prince of Wales admitted he had to vent after Aston Villa’s tough 4-1 loss to Crystal Palace.
While speaking with a local woman — whose son, Ryno, runs The Villa Pride Down Under Podcast — William shared how he dealt with his disappointment.
“I had to go and listen to the podcast last night to get my anger out, reading the comments,” he said, per a fan made video.
Standing beside him, the Princess of Wales chimed in with a laugh: “I had all this going on at home, honestly!”
Despite his frustration, William remained hopeful, saying, “It was disappointing. I hope Friday goes better!”
Fortunately, Villa fans — including the future King — had reason to celebrate just days later. The team bounced back with a 2-0 victory against Cardiff City in the FA Cup’s fifth round.
The podcast’s official account later shared a post about the unexpected royal moment, writing, “We’re sure the Prince wasn’t expecting to encounter Ryno’s mum in the Valleys, adorning a Villa shirt and plugging the @PrideDownUnder pod!”
William has long been a devoted Villa fan, regularly attending games and sharing his passion for the sport with his children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
